Kishore Kumar Held in Katra With 5.43g Heroin

Police crackdown continues under NDPS Act in Katra

Continuing their aggressive stance against the drug menace, Katra Police arrested a notorious drug peddler, Kishore Kumar, and seized 5.43 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession.

Based on a tip-off, a surprise naka (checkpoint) was set up near SMVDSB Stadium, Katra, by a police team led by SHO Katra, Khyatiman Khajuria. During the operation, Kishore Kumar, son of Sham Lal, a resident of Aghar Jitto in Katra, Reasi district, was intercepted.

Upon searching him, police found approximately 5.43 grams of heroin in his possession. A case under FIR No. 131/2025 was registered at Police Station Katra under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act.

Authorities confirmed that an investigation is ongoing to trace the drug supply chain, including both backward and forward linkages to dismantle the broader network involved.
