The Excise Department Special Task Force apprehended Kiran Kumar, a youth involved in drug peddling, during a raid in Balanagar on Tuesday night. Authorities confiscated 19 grams of cocaine, 7 grams of marijuana, and Rs 60,000 cash from him.
Officials revealed that Kiran Kumar, who was also a drug user, sourced the narcotics from Santosh Jadhav, a dealer operating out of Goa. He transported the drugs into Hyderabad concealed in private buses and cars, selling them at inflated prices to local consumers.
The arrest followed a tip-off, leading to Kiran’s capture and the seizure of the illegal substances. Investigations are ongoing to trace the primary sources and dismantle the drug supply chain, officials confirmed.
