Kimberly Rodriguez Charged With Murder in Corpus Christi Shooting

Police say fatal shooting on Cain Drive stemmed from family violence

HOUSTON, Texas — A 40-year-old woman, Kimberly Rodriguez, has been arrested and charged with murder after a fatal shooting on Cain Drive in Corpus Christi, police announced.

The incident occurred on the morning of July 7, 2025, and is being investigated as a case of family violence, according to the Corpus Christi Police Department.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 5000 block of Cain Drive at 8:05 a.m. and discovered a male victim with a gunshot wound inside a residence. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Rodriguez allegedly fled the scene before officers arrived but was later located and arrested without incident. She is currently being interviewed by police.

The Robbery Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case, and detectives are following up on leads. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim.
