Khunti police conducted a major operation under the Jariagarh police station limits on Tuesday, leading to the arrest of four individuals and the seizure of 39.78 kg of poppy bulbs along with approximately 6 kg of opium-like substances.
The district’s Superintendent of Police, Manish Toppo, identified the arrested as Santosh Aind, Jivan Aind, Mahadeo Tunti, and Jatha Sanga, all residents of Khunti district.
Authorities revealed that the accused admitted to cultivating poppy plants, which are commonly used to produce opium. The police have initiated further investigations into the case.
