A school director in Khon Kaen was arrested for drug dealing following a sting operation that caught him in the act of delivering methamphetamine to an undercover officer. On January 14, Police Colonel Theerathat Phongsuwan from Nong Song Hong Police Station confirmed the arrest of 40-year-old Naphatdol, the director of a school in Nong Song Hong district. He was found in possession of 369 methamphetamine tablets.

This arrest followed a previous capture on January 11, when 29-year-old Thayakorn was found with 20 methamphetamine tablets in a field hut in Village 4, Don Dang subdistrict. During the investigation, it was revealed that Naphatdol had supplied the drugs to Thayakorn for personal use and resale.

To gather more evidence, police set up a sting operation to purchase drugs from the school director. The planned meeting occurred on a roadside connecting Nong Song Hong and Ban Phai districts. When police arrived, they found Naphatdol standing with 186 methamphetamine tablets packed in a blue plastic bag inside a food container by a kilometre marker.

Further investigation led police to a resort room rented by Naphatdol in Nong Song Hong subdistrict, where an additional 183 methamphetamine tablets were discovered hidden in a rectangular box.

During questioning, the school director admitted to having befriended a criminal after acting as a bail guarantor for a drug-related case a year ago. This connection led him to obtain and distribute methamphetamine to local networks. However, he claimed he was unaware of the drug’s origin and distribution chain, as transactions were arranged through phone instructions for pickups and deliveries.

Naphatdol has been charged with possession and distribution of a category 1 narcotic for commercial purposes and driving under the influence of methamphetamine. He has been remanded to the court for further legal proceedings.
