Khanna Police Arrest 22 in Major Cyberfraud Case

Key Suspects Nabbed in Rs 6 Crore Online Scam

Khanna cybercrime police have arrested 22 accused involved in a large cyberfraud racket and recovered Rs 14.34 lakh linked to multiple online scams.

Key suspects include Krishan of Zirakpur, Parvinder Singh alias Tony from Chandigarh, Samaksh Bhatt and Amritpal Kaur of Mohali, Prince, Anmol Chauhan, Rahul Sagwan from Ludhiana, and five Moga residents — Prabjot Singh, Gurvinder Singh, Amol Singh, Simran Singh, and Beant Kaur. Police recovered Rs 9.35 lakh from this group.

In addition, Karnamjit Singh and Gurveer Singh from Mohali; Kuljit Singh, Sanjeev Mittal, Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi, Amritpal Singh alias Doctor, and Mohan Singh from Jalandhar have also been arrested. Kuljit Singh and Mohan Singh have been identified as key suspects in the racket. Rs 5 lakh was seized from them.

Victims like Sanjeev Pandhi and Mahendra Pratap Singh Gill from Machhiwara lost Rs 3.72 crore and Rs 2.65 crore respectively through fake online trading schemes and phone scams. The criminals used Telegram and posed as law enforcement officials to dupe their targets.

Police have confiscated 100 mobile phones linked to fraud cases and are actively investigating bank accounts used in these scams. SSP Jyoti Yadav assured that efforts are ongoing to help victims recover their money and warned that perpetrators won’t be spared.
