In a major breakthrough, Khandagiri police arrested four drug peddlers in Bhubaneswar on Monday, seizing 20 grams of brown sugar and two motorcycles.
The arrested individuals are Arun Patra (Dumuduma), Shakti Narayan Nanda (Gandamunda), Jagannath Sahoo alias Jaga, and Dasharathi Dalai (both from Raghunath Nagar).
Acting on a tip-off, the police team led by IIC Abhimanyu Das raided the AIIMS Road area near Maa Bhuasuni Temple and Cashew Forest, intercepting the accused while allegedly dealing drugs.
“All four have prior criminal records. Arun Patra and Jagannath Sahoo are linked to NDPS cases, while Dasharathi Dalai has a previous robbery conviction. The seized contraband weighs 20 grams, and two motorcycles used in the operation have also been confiscated. All four will be forwarded to court today,” said ACP Tapas Ch. Pradhan.
