RIDGEWAY, VA — A Ridgeway man, Keyon Lesam Hairston, 39, was arrested and charged following a domestic stabbing incident on the morning of September 19, 2025.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office responded around 9:17 a.m. after receiving a report of an assault that occurred earlier that day at 57 Creekway Trail.
Authorities say the incident happened around 6:00 a.m. when Hairston returned home after being away overnight. Witnesses reported Hairston yelling at the door before forcibly kicking it open. Once inside, he allegedly grabbed the victim by the arm and dragged her into a back bedroom.
During the altercation, the victim attempted to escape to the kitchen but was followed by Hairston, who reportedly placed his hands around her neck, choking her until she struggled to breathe. Fearing for her life, the victim grabbed a kitchen knife, cutting Hairston and breaking free.
Deputies and investigators arrived promptly, processing the scene and interviewing witnesses.
Hairston has been charged with Abduction by Force and Strangulation under Virginia law. He is currently held without bond at the Henry County Adult Detention Center.
The investigation continues, and authorities encourage anyone with additional information to come forward.
