LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WAFF) – Three individuals were arrested last week following a major drug bust in Limestone County.
On January 21, the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence located on the 700 block of Brownsferry Street in Athens. During the search, authorities discovered over a quarter pound of methamphetamine, more than an ounce of fentanyl pills, a small quantity of crack cocaine, a small amount of marijuana, and two firearms.
The three people arrested were 33-year-old Kevaun Turner, 35-year-old Antonio Nelson, and Tina Cook.
Turner, who is on both state and federal probation, is facing multiple charges including:
Two counts of possession of marijuana in the second degree
Possession of a controlled substance
Two counts of drug trafficking related to fentanyl
Drug trafficking related to methamphetamine
He is being held at the Limestone County Detention Facility on a $1.5 million bond.
Nelson, an Alabama state parolee, was arrested for violating his parole and also charged with drug trafficking. He is being held on a $500,000 bond.
Cook, who faces charges of drug trafficking related to methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance, is being held at the facility with a $505,000 bond.
The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office continues its efforts to combat illegal drug trafficking in the region.
