Kervin Tribble Pleads Guilty in Troy Gun and Drug Case

Faces 10-Year Sentence Under New York’s GIVE Initiative

by Sophia Bennett

TROY, N.Y. — Kervin Tribble has pleaded guilty to Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a Class C felony, as announced by Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly. The case was prosecuted under New York’s Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) Initiative.

The charge stems from an incident on April 25, 2024, when the Troy Police Department Special Operations Section executed a search warrant at 41 Douw Street as part of a drug investigation. During the search, Tribble was found with a loaded pistol, over half an ounce each of fentanyl and cocaine, drug distribution paraphernalia, and more than $20,000 in cash.

Tribble will be sentenced to 10 years in state prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision, and will forfeit the $20,000 in cash. Sentencing is scheduled for June 6, 2025, before Judge Young.

Chief Assistant District Attorney Spencer Lane prosecuted the case, which was a joint effort involving the Troy Police Department, Rensselaer County District Attorney’s Office, and Rensselaer County Probation Department, all working through the GIVE grant program. This state-funded initiative aims to reduce gun violence in select New York cities through targeted enforcement and prosecution.
