OPELIKA, Ala. — Several suspects have been arrested in connection with multiple armed robbery investigations in Opelika.

On June 26, 2025, police responded to a report of a robbery at Color Vision Rent to Own on Pepperell Parkway. The victim told officers that he had met two men in the parking lot to sell a firearm. The men drove away to get cash but returned with a third individual. During the transaction, one suspect brandished a firearm and threatened the victim before fleeing with both the money and the firearm.

Following an investigation, 20-year-old Kenyan Dashun Vann of Opelika was arrested on June 30 and charged with first-degree robbery. Later, on August 20, a 17-year-old juvenile from Auburn was also taken into custody in connection with the same case.

In a separate incident on August 18, police were called to the 3500 block of Dale Avenue regarding another armed robbery. Two victims reported being blocked by a U-Haul truck while driving. Two suspects exited the vehicle, and one pointed a firearm at the victims demanding money. The suspects fled the scene in the truck.

On August 20, Opelika detectives executed a search warrant leading to the arrests of 40-year-old Corey Sheve Cooper and 22-year-old Justin Martinez Monrell McGhee. All suspects, including Vann, Cooper, and McGhee, were booked into the Lee County Justice Center facing first-degree robbery charges.
