Kenneth Varn Arrested in Southern Pines Drug Bust

Cocaine, marijuana, THC oil, and $75K seized in raid

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. — A 61-year-old man, Kenneth Varn, was arrested following a major drug bust in Southern Pines on Wednesday. The Moore County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1100 block of West New Hampshire Avenue, resulting in the seizure of multiple drugs and over $75,000 in cash.

According to a press release from Sheriff Ronnie Fields, detectives recovered suspected cocaine, marijuana, THC oil, various drug paraphernalia, and a large amount of currency during the search.

Varn now faces several serious charges, including:

Trafficking in cocaine by possession

Possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine

Possession of methamphetamine

Felony possession of cocaine

Maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for controlled substances

Possession of marijuana up to one-half ounce

Simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance

Possession of drug paraphernalia

He is currently being held at the Moore County Detention Center under a $75,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 22.
