LONDON, Ky. (LEX 18) – Kenneth Taylor, 38, was arrested on May 9 after allegedly attempting to cash a fraudulent check at a local bank and then fleeing from police in a vehicle.

According to Acting Chief of Police Bobby Day, officers responded to a call around 9:20 a.m. at Cumberland Valley National Bank regarding a person attempting to cash a fraudulent check. Upon arriving at the scene, officers observed Taylor driving away from the bank. As they approached, Taylor allegedly attempted to speed off toward KY-192.

The officers conducted a traffic stop, but Taylor reportedly failed to stop and continued west on KY-192. He eventually halted due to traffic congestion, at which point he was taken into custody.

Taylor has been charged with first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and second-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle). In addition, authorities found that Taylor had an active warrant for felony probation violation.
