CUMMING, Ga. – Four men, including Kenneth Robinson, were arrested Tuesday by Forsyth County deputies following a swift response to a suspicious activity call at a Citizens Bank branch on GA-400.
At approximately 3 p.m. on August 19, a bank customer reported an unauthorized $4,300 check payment. When asked by a teller, the customer confirmed he did not approve the transaction, prompting the teller to call 911.
Upon arrival, a deputy spotted a beige Mazda SUV attempting to flee the parking lot. The deputy stopped the vehicle and detained three men inside: Marcus Riggins, Demarco Marshall, and Eric Hilliard. Investigators found Kenneth Robinson inside the bank, waiting to cash the fraudulent check.
The sheriff’s office revealed the group had attempted similar forgery the day before. On August 18, someone contacted a Citizens Bank branch in Cherokee County, using the victim’s Social Security number and birth date to change the phone number on the account, followed by an attempted forgery that led to an arrest.
The men successfully cashed nearly $4,000 at one Forsyth branch before trying again at the GA-400 location. The account holder later confirmed both checks were counterfeit, as the original check numbers remained in his checkbook.
All four suspects were booked into the county jail, and their rental car was seized for further investigation. It remains unclear whether they have retained legal counsel or when their next court date will be.
