BRUNSWICK, GA — A man was arrested after a violent incident at Side Pokkets Bar in Brunswick early Sunday morning. The Glynn County Sheriff’s Office responded just after midnight on July 21 following reports that a man was threatening bar staff and refusing to leave.
The suspect, identified as Kenneth Jackson, reportedly became combative with officers during the arrest. Authorities say he attempted to flee, fought with officers, and kicked a paramedic while receiving medical treatment.
During the arrest, officers discovered multiple illegal substances on Jackson, including methamphetamine, cocaine, MDMA, and fentanyl, as well as a digital scale. A further search of his vehicle uncovered additional drugs and packaging materials. In total, over 129 grams of illegal drugs were recovered.
Though staff initially reported that Jackson may have had a firearm, officers were unable to confirm the presence of a weapon.
Jackson is now facing multiple felony charges, including drug trafficking, obstruction of law enforcement, and assault on a medical responder.
