Kenneth Elliot, Matthew Allen Arrested for Tractor Theft

Stolen trailer recovered at Cullman Walmart parking lot

by Sophia Bennett

CULLMAN, Ala. — Two men have been arrested in connection with the theft of a tractor and trailer that was reported stolen from Marshall County, according to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).

Authorities say that on June 25, the Cullman Police Department (CPD) contacted MCSO after discovering the stolen tractor and trailer abandoned in the Walmart parking lot in Cullman. The equipment had reportedly been parked there for several days.

Investigators coordinated a stakeout, expecting the suspects to return for the equipment. However, the suspects called Walmart claiming they had broken down on Interstate 65 and could not reach the site.

CPD officers then located the suspects—Kenneth Elliot and Matthew Allen—on the side of I-65, according to MCSO. After conducting interviews, officers arrested both men and transported them to the Marshall County Jail for booking.

The stolen tractor and trailer were recovered and returned to their rightful owner.

The case remains under investigation.
