Kenneth Dwayne Daly, 46, from Idaho Falls, was sentenced on December 6 to more than 10 years in federal prison for his role in distributing methamphetamine. U.S. District Judge David C. Nye also ordered Daly to serve five years of supervised release following his prison term.
Court records show that Daly sold methamphetamine on four separate occasions in January and February 2024 in East Idaho. The quantities involved included 27.79 grams, 112.26 grams, 226.13 grams, and 13.96 grams.
In April 2024, Daly agreed to sell half a pound of methamphetamine, but during the transaction, Idaho State Police arrested him. At the time of his arrest, Daly had 237.1 grams of methamphetamine in his possession. A subsequent search of his residence uncovered an additional 313.7 grams, bringing the total amount attributed to him to 930.44 grams.
Daly’s criminal history includes four state felony convictions for methamphetamine possession and distribution, as well as nine misdemeanor convictions related to violent offenses.
The case was prosecuted by a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney funded through the Eastern Idaho Partnership (EIP), which supports federal prosecutions of violent criminals and drug traffickers in the region. Since its launch in 2016, the EIP has indicted 175 defendants, securing 10,769 months (approximately 897 years) of combined federal prison sentences.
