Man Indicted for Attempted Murder After Violent Hammer Attack
MASON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) — A West Virginia man has been indicted on two counts of attempted murder after allegedly attacking two people with a hammer in April.
According to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Kenneth Connell was arrested following a violent assault on Tribble Road in Leon on April 13. Deputies responded to the scene to find a man and woman lying on the floor of a residence—the man drifting in and out of consciousness and the woman unresponsive.
Next to the male victim, deputies discovered a bloody hammer, believed to be the weapon used in the attack.
Connell was arrested shortly after the incident and has now been formally indicted on two counts of attempted murder. He is scheduled to be arraigned next week.
