Louisville, KY – A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the robbery of Springfield State Bank in Washington County, Kentucky. Kendrick Elliot, 58, from Louisville, was arrested around 5:45 p.m. on Friday and is facing charges of first-degree robbery. Police have not confirmed whether Elliot was directly involved in robbing the bank, but his arrest comes after a series of investigations following the robbery.
The robbery occurred on Wednesday, when a masked man, armed with a gun, threatened a bank teller at the Springfield State Bank Branch. Photos of the suspect were released by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, leading to the subsequent arrests of two individuals.
On Thursday, Sherrie Knox, the driver of the suspected getaway vehicle, was arrested in Louisville. Knox confessed to her involvement in the robbery and assisted police in recovering half of the stolen money. She has been charged with complicity to robbery, with her bond set at $1 million cash. Knox is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
Elliot’s bond has been set at $500,000, and he is currently being held at the Marion County Detention Center as authorities continue to investigate the robbery.
