AUSTIN, Texas – Police have arrested 25-year-old Kenan Greene in connection with a deadly drive-by shooting that occurred on July 19 in North Austin, marking the city’s 34th homicide of 2025.

According to the Austin Police Department, officers responded around 2:07 a.m. to a shooting at 804 East Braker Lane. A woman had called 911, pleading for help and reporting she had been shot and someone else was dead.

Responding officers found the woman and a man inside a car, both suffering from gunshot wounds. The man, identified as Comarri Thompson, was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman, later identified as Thompson’s girlfriend, was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
