Kelvin Anderson Mitchell, 26, was arrested on Tuesday morning in connection with the theft of over 20 firearms from Reloaded Gun Shop in Florence, South Carolina. Chief Deputy Tommy Sullivan confirmed that Mitchell was apprehended near McLeod Regional Medical Center, following a burglary incident that occurred on Second Loop Road.
Mitchell faces serious charges, including two counts of second-degree burglary, two counts of grand larceny, two counts of possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and charges related to the unlawful sale or possession of firearms. According to authorities, Mitchell allegedly stole firearms, ammunition, and U.S. currency during two separate break-ins at the gun shop.
Following his arrest, deputies executed a search warrant and recovered 14 of the stolen firearms. Mitchell is currently being held at the Florence County Detention Center, awaiting a bond hearing. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
