A man accused of stealing items from a rental car used by Beyoncé’s team during her Atlanta tour stop has rejected a plea deal and will proceed to trial.
Kelvin Evans faces charges of entering an automobile with intent to commit theft and criminal trespass. After previously pleading not guilty, he declined a plea agreement on Wednesday and is now scheduled for trial in September.
Police say the incident occurred on July 8 in a parking garage on Krog Street NE while Beyoncé was in Atlanta for her “Cowboy Carter” tour, which included four performances at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
According to the singer’s team, stolen items included jump drives containing unreleased music and show plans, as well as personal electronics such as AirPods and a MacBook Pro.
Investigators linked Evans to the crime by identifying a vehicle allegedly used during the break-in, which was captured on surveillance footage. He was initially arrested in August for a parole violation and later charged in connection with the theft in September.
The case remains ongoing as authorities prepare for trial.
