VERMILION PARISH, La. (KLFY) — A 36-year-old man, Kelsey Braxton, has been arrested on a series of drug-related charges in Vermilion Parish, according to the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Eddie Langlinais confirmed Braxton’s arrest in a news release on Friday. He now faces numerous charges, including possession with intent to distribute a variety of drugs such as MDMA, fentanyl, marijuana, cocaine, crack cocaine, alprazolam, Adderall, promethazine, and oxycodone. In addition, he is charged with possession of controlled substances such as methocarbamol, eqipsoise, and drug paraphernalia.
Braxton also faces charges for being a felon in possession of a firearm, as well as possession of a firearm while in the presence of drugs. He is charged with three counts of possession of drugs in the presence of a juvenile and possession of controlled substances in a drug-free zone, specifically near South Louisiana Community College.
The arrest follows a search of Braxton’s home and vehicles located on the 300 block of Graceland Avenue. Law enforcement officials discovered a large quantity of crack cocaine near a digital scale, alongside powder cocaine, MDMA, and other suspected drugs. Authorities also recovered a handgun and three firearm magazines from the residence.
The investigation continues as authorities work to address the serious charges against Braxton.
