Two Syracuse residents were arrested during a narcotics investigation executed by the Nebraska State Patrol on Thursday. At 1 p.m., investigators served a search warrant at a residence located near Chestnut and Fifth Streets, where they discovered 186 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 536 grams of suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a handgun.
Further investigation revealed additional methamphetamine when two individuals exited the property. The two arrested suspects, Kellie Bassinger, 30, and Brian Werner, 41, were taken into custody and booked at the Otoe County Jail.
Both face serious charges, including possession of methamphetamine and marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of money during a drug violation, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
The investigation is still ongoing with the assistance of the Otoe County Sheriff’s Office.
