Poinciana Middle School Assistant Principal Arrested for Inappropriate Behavior with Student
POINCIANA, Fla. – Dr. Keiva Lark, 53, an assistant principal at Lake Marion Creek Middle School, was arrested on Thursday after being charged with improper conduct involving a student, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO). Lark faces charges of lewd and lascivious conduct and lewd offenses against a student by an authority figure.
The investigation began on April 4 after the school’s principal reported the incident. Lark was immediately placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
According to PCSO, the incident occurred when the victim was sent to Lark’s office for misbehavior in class, where he had thrown balled-up paper during a test. Inside the office, two witnesses and the victim reported that Lark instructed the student to rub her feet, claiming he had “nothing better to do with his hands.” Lark removed her shoes and placed her legs on the victim’s lap. The victim complied.
Lark was reportedly heard scolding the student for not massaging her feet correctly, demonstrating the preferred technique by rubbing the victim’s arm and shoulder. One witness also heard Lark instruct the student to rub her feet “like he loved her” and making disturbing comments about foreplay, suggesting this would help him understand what it was for when he had a girlfriend.
PCSO further stated that a witness later heard Lark admit she had “crossed the line” with her behavior during the incident.
