MEMPHIS, Tenn. – An 18-year-old and a 13-year-old were arrested following a robbery and a police pursuit that took place in Hickory Hill on Saturday, as reported by the Memphis Police Department (MPD).

Keith Jackson, 18, was charged with several offenses, including aggravated robbery, evading arrest on foot, evading arrest in a vehicle, and reckless driving. The 13-year-old was charged with theft of property valued between $2,500 and $10,000, as well as evading arrest on foot.

The incident began on November 9 when officers responded to a robbery in the 2800 block of Eaglewood Drive. The victim reported that their Toyota Corolla had been stolen. The following day, officers spotted the stolen vehicle near Hickory Hill Road and Ridgeway Boulevard. When officers attempted a traffic stop, the driver ignored their orders, prompting a high-speed pursuit.

During the chase, the stolen car was driven recklessly, running red lights and ignoring traffic laws. The suspects eventually crashed the car, and the 13-year-old, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, fled on foot. He was apprehended in the 5900 block of Fox Ridge Drive.

Jackson, who was the driver, also attempted to flee on foot but was caught after a brief chase. Police discovered that Jackson had active warrants from November 2 for theft of property valued between $10,000 and $60,000 and evading arrest. He was also connected to multiple other cases, MPD stated.

Both suspects are now in custody, facing multiple charges related to the robbery, theft, and the pursuit. The case highlights the ongoing challenges law enforcement faces in dealing with both adult and juvenile offenders in the Memphis area.
