ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. (BTW21) — A 34-year-old Ruffin man, Keith Allen Mitchell, is facing several charges following a domestic altercation that occurred earlier this week, according to the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office.
On June 30, 2025, deputies responded to a call reporting an assault at 808 Guerrant Springs Road in Ruffin. Upon arrival, they found a female victim with visible injuries consistent with a recent assault.
After investigating the scene, deputies identified Mitchell as the suspect. Though he had fled before their arrival, he was later located and arrested at a separate location.
Mitchell is now facing the following charges:
Assault by Pointing a Gun
Misdemeanor Crime of Domestic Assault
Assault on a Female
Communicating Threats
Following his arrest, Mitchell was brought before a magistrate and booked into the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility. He is currently being held without bond.
He is scheduled to appear in Rockingham County District Court on July 26, 2025.
