Keiran Bass Jailed for Drug Dealing After Cocaine Seizure

by Amelia Crawford

A drug dealer from Blackwood has been sentenced to 28 months in prison after police discovered cocaine, weighing scales, and a burner phone in his possession.

Keiran Bass, 28, appeared at Newport Crown Court on Thursday, February 27, where he faced drug supply charges.

The case began on November 26, 2023, when Rhymney officers responded to reports of an unresponsive man in a car parked on Rowan Place. Upon arrival, officers saw Bass leaving the vehicle and carried out a search, finding weighing scales on him.

A further search of the car uncovered snap bags of cocaine and cash, leading to his arrest on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. Officers later searched his home in Blackwood, where they found more drugs, drug paraphernalia, and multiple phones.

Analysis of a seized phone provided further evidence of drug supply, resulting in Bass receiving a 28-month prison sentence.

Authorities urge anyone with concerns or information about illegal drug activity in their community to report it via their website, by calling 101, or through direct messages on social media.
