LAREDO, Texas — A woman identified as Kayla Nicole Gutierrez, 35, has been arrested for allegedly stealing a DeWalt 20V screw gun valued at $139.99 from Dr. Ike’s Home Center in Laredo.

Police say officers were dispatched to the store, located at 4200 I-35 North, around 9:26 a.m. on September 24 after a theft report was filed.

According to the on-duty manager, the theft occurred on September 20 when Gutierrez allegedly entered the store, concealed the screw gun in her purse, and left without paying. Surveillance footage reportedly showed her arriving and departing in a yellow Chevrolet Camaro.

Investigators linked Gutierrez to previous alleged thefts at the same location. After reviewing the evidence, the Webb County District Attorney’s Office issued an arrest warrant on October 29 for theft of property, a Class B misdemeanor.

Authorities confirmed that the warrant was served shortly thereafter, and Gutierrez was taken into custody.
