
Kayden Echols Arrested After Stealing Bread Truck in Bowling Green, Leads Police on Chase
BOWLING GREEN, KY – A 20-year-old man is in custody after allegedly stealing a Klosterman Baking Company bread truck loaded with $4,000 worth of buns and leading police on a chase through Bowling Green early Thursday morning.
According to the Bowling Green Police Department, officers responded to a stolen vehicle report at the Chick-fil-A on Campbell Lane after the driver reported he left the keys inside the parked delivery truck while entering the restaurant.
Upon returning, the driver saw the bread truck circling the parking lot before exiting onto Campbell Lane.
Police Pursuit Begins
Officers spotted the vehicle on Russellville Road and attempted a traffic stop. The driver failed to stop, prompting involvement from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies also attempted a stop, but the vehicle continued back toward town.
Authorities eventually deployed spike strips, which successfully punctured all four tires, bringing the truck to a halt.
Suspect Identified
The suspect, identified as Kayden Echols, was taken into custody at the scene. According to police, Echols claimed he took the truck because he “needed to get somewhere” but soon realized he was going the wrong direction.
Charges Filed
Echols is being held at the Warren County Regional Jail and faces the following charges:
First-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle)
Reckless driving
Theft by unlawful taking – auto ($10,000–$1,000,000)
Theft by unlawful taking – all others ($1,000–$10,000)
First-degree criminal mischief
No injuries were reported, and the stolen truck — along with its carb-loaded cargo — was recovered.
