Kavoor Police successfully apprehended two individuals involved in a series of cattle thefts in the region. The suspects, Faizal Konchar (40) and Suhaib Akhtar (24), were arrested after a thorough investigation into the cattle thefts occurring in Mangaluru.
The arrests were made under IPC Section 379 and the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Ordinance 2020. The police seized a Ridge car and a Fascino scooter allegedly used in the thefts. Both individuals were presented in court following their apprehension.
Faizal, a resident of Badriyanagar in Pejavara, has been implicated in multiple cattle theft cases. Authorities found that he had been involved in at least 12 previous theft cases across various locations, including seven at Bajpe Police Station, one at Shankaranarayana Police Station in Udupi, and two at Sirsi Market Police Station. His involvement in two thefts in Shivamogga district has also been reported.
The operation was carried out under the leadership of Mangaluru Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal IPS, with oversight from DCPs Siddharth Goyal IPS (Law & Order) and Dinesh Kumar (Crime & Traffic). The team was guided by ACP Shrikant K and involved several key personnel from Kavoor Police Station, including Inspector Raghavendra Baindur and Sub-Inspector Mallikarjun Biradar.
