Kaushambi Police Arrest 3 in Rs 1.12 Lakh Road Material Theft

Burglars stole construction materials to pay vehicle loan

Kaushambi police have busted an inter-district burglary gang, arresting three key members involved in stealing construction materials from a road project.

All three are residents of Rasoolabad, Kanpur Dehat. According to police, the gang stole road construction materials twice to pay off two instalments of their pickup van loan.

Police recovered 13 special iron angle parts, 160 nuts and bolts, one wrench, one spanner, Rs 14,070 cash, a pickup van, and four mobile phones from the accused. The thefts targeted materials installed near the newly constructed Ram Van Gaman Path in Kaushambi. A construction company lodged an FIR on November 28, prompting the investigation.

After analyzing CCTV footage and compiling intelligence inputs, police intercepted a pickup van near Chitapur Basedi Road and arrested the three suspects. The gang executed the thefts on November 26 and December 4, selling the stolen materials worth Rs 1.12 lakh. They paid Rs 35,400 for each loan instalment and distributed the remaining cash among themselves.
