LEMON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WXIX) – A troubling video that circulated on social media led to the arrest of a 28-year-old woman, Katelin Conklin, who is facing charges of animal cruelty and domestic violence.
The Butler County Sheriff’s Office reported that they were alerted to the “disturbing” video on Monday. The footage shows Conklin punching her boyfriend and choking a dog, which can be heard struggling to breathe. The sheriff’s office stated that the woman also “forcefully” threw the dog to the ground.
Authorities visited a residence on Buena Avenue in Lemon Township to investigate the situation. After questioning Conklin and her boyfriend, the 28-year-old was arrested.
Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones condemned the behavior, saying, “This type of behavior is unacceptable. We take both domestic violence and animal cruelty very seriously, and we will always pursue charges when the evidence supports it.”
Conklin has since been charged, and the investigation is ongoing.
