SAYRE, PA (WETM) — Four individuals from Waverly, New York, were arrested on drug-related charges following a chaotic traffic stop in Sayre Borough on November 13.
Police say the incident began around 4:00 p.m. when an officer noticed a truck with a New York plate that was registered to another vehicle. As the officer attempted to pull the vehicle over on Spring Street, the occupants began reaching around and throwing items out of the windows.
After the truck was stopped near Cayuta Street, officers discovered multiple violations:
One unnamed male suspect had a knife clipped to his pocket, hypodermic needles, and a suspended license. The truck was not registered in his name.
Kate Rowe, 30, was found with an active arrest warrant, multiple hypodermic needles, and a plastic straw with suspected meth in her purse.
Jacob Simpson, 27, had a used glass meth pipe in his possession.
Brandon Moore, 25, fled across the street and locked himself in a bar bathroom for several minutes. Once removed, he was found with marijuana.
A search of the vehicle revealed:
13 grams of meth hidden behind the stereo
Over 30 grams of marijuana
Charges include:
Kate Rowe: Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Jacob Simpson: Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Brandon Moore: Obstructing Law Enforcement, Disorderly Conduct, Marijuana Possession/Distribution
The driver has not been formally charged at this time. All three named individuals are scheduled for court hearings in early January 2022.
