A man who had been on the run since 2024 was arrested Friday in Nacogdoches County after deputies found methamphetamine in his possession during the arrest.
Authorities said Karl Meisch, 35, was taken into custody and booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance and evading arrest. He also faces several outstanding warrants, including two counts of evading arrest, bail jumping, failure to appear, and release of surety.
Earlier that day, the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office received information that Meisch was at a relative’s home located on County Road 336 in Nacogdoches County.
Deputies and county constables responded to the location using unmarked vehicles. When officers arrived, they spotted Meisch working on a motorcycle in the front yard.
Authorities said Meisch attempted to run toward a nearby wooded area after noticing law enforcement. Deputies pursued him and ultimately tackled him after a brief struggle.
During the arrest, officers discovered approximately 20 grams of methamphetamine in Meisch’s pocket, according to investigators.
Meisch was transported to the county jail, where he remains in custody with total bond set at $175,000.
