EVANSVILLE, Ind. — A 62-year-old man, Karl Card, was arrested after allegedly pulling a gun on another driver during a road rage incident.

Police responded to a call at the Thorntons on Rosenberger Avenue around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, where the victim reported being threatened with a handgun.

According to the victim, while driving west on the Lloyd near a merge point, they noticed a semi-truck and a blue Kia with the personalized plate “SLOWMO” approaching aggressively from behind. To prevent the vehicles from passing, the victim centered their car on the dotted line, which seemed to anger the driver of the blue Kia.

The victim said Card followed them to the Thorntons parking lot and pulled up alongside. When the victim approached Card’s vehicle, Card rolled down his window and pointed a handgun at the victim’s face.

A witness confirmed seeing the victim approach calmly and Card brandishing the firearm.

After the confrontation, Card drove off but was soon located near Lowe’s, where police took him into custody. Card admitted to following the victim and said he pulled the gun because he felt threatened.

Officers confiscated the handgun from Card’s glovebox, noting there was a round in the chamber. Card was booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail on charges of Intimidation With a Deadly Weapon.
