The district crime branch of Panchkula police arrested 22-year-old Karan, also known as Chiku, in connection with a recent high-value theft case. The arrest led to the recovery of approximately 300 grams of gold, 186 grams of silver, and Rs1.2 lakh in cash, with an estimated total value of Rs32 lakh.

Karan, a resident of Kalka, has a history of criminal activity, with two previous theft cases registered against him in 2022 and 2024.
The latest theft targeted the residence of Harwinder Singh in Kalka. Singh reported the burglary after returning from Paonta Sahib on April 14. Notably, this was the second time Karan had allegedly stolen from the same house.

Following the registration of the case, police investigations included CCTV footage analysis, which helped trace and arrest Karan near the Kalka vegetable market on May 15. He was presented before the court on May 16 and remanded to three days of police custody.

During interrogation, Karan admitted to the theft, which facilitated the recovery of the stolen items. The police are continuing their investigation to identify if Karan was involved in other crimes.
