Delhi Police have cracked seven burglary and house theft cases in South Delhi’s Mehrauli area, arresting three individuals — a brother, his sister, and his wife — allegedly involved in a coordinated series of daytime burglaries.
The investigation began after an e-FIR (No. 80023033/26) was filed on March 16 regarding a theft in a locked house. Police identified a pattern of similar incidents over the past two to three months, indicating the involvement of habitual offenders targeting secured homes during daytime.
A dedicated team comprising Sub Inspector Amit Kaushik, ASI Ravinder, Head Constable Rohtash, and Constable Vinod, under the supervision of SHO Mehrauli Ritesh and guidance of ACP Mehrauli, analyzed footage from 80–100 CCTV cameras. This led to the identification and arrest of Karamveer (30) on March 18. Following interrogation, his sister Palak (25) and wife Radhika alias Radha (21) were also apprehended.
Police said the trio operated as a family unit, with Karamveer executing the burglaries, Palak assisting in selling stolen jewellery in Uttar Pradesh, and Radhika handling and managing the stolen items.
Recovered property included jewellery sale receipts worth Rs 5.2 lakh, Rs 1 lakh frozen in a bank account, a laptop, two mobile phones, a silver anklet, a silver coin, electronic accessories, branded clothes, and personal documents.
Officials highlighted the role of technology and timely police action in dismantling this burglary network.
In a separate case on March 21, a 22-year-old chef working night shifts at a five-star hotel in southwest Delhi’s RK Puram was arrested for burglary. Nilesh alias Nikesh reportedly used a master key to steal cash and jewellery worth Rs 2.69 lakh. Police also recovered a master key and two scooters, one allegedly stolen.
