Kaptipada police on Tuesday arrested three individuals linked to the murder of a woman in Bidyadharanagar village under their jurisdiction in Mayurbhanj district. The accused include Sabitri Sae, wife of Pratap Sae, along with her associates Dukhia Sae and Jayanti Sae.
The victim, Madhe Singh, was found dead in a forest near the village on May 4. Authorities revealed that Sabitri suspected her husband Pratap of having an extramarital relationship with Madhe, which fueled tensions. Pratap had reportedly expressed intentions of bringing Madhe home, further aggravating the situation.
On the night of May 3, Sabitri allegedly attacked Madhe with a knife near the village dam and killed her. With the help of Dukhia and Jayanti, she then disposed of the body in the nearby forest and fled the scene.
Following a police investigation based on gathered leads, the trio was apprehended and taken into custody. Further inquiries are ongoing.
