Kansas City Woman Arrested After High-Speed Chase, Drug Possession, and Attempted Smuggling in Pettis County

Brianna Willis Faces Multiple Felony Charges Following Pursuit and Drug Discovery in Stolen Vehicle

PETTIS COUNTY, Mo. — A Kansas City woman, Brianna Willis, is behind bars following a high-speed chase across multiple counties that ended in Pettis County on Tuesday afternoon.

Chase Begins with Stolen Vehicle
According to the probable cause statement, a Pettis County deputy began following a car that had been reported stolen around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday on westbound Highway 50 near La Monte. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as 32-year-old Brianna Willis, refused to pull over and led authorities on a high-speed chase that reached speeds of up to 100 miles per hour.

Chase Involves Multiple Agencies
The pursuit continued into Johnson County, where the Missouri State Highway Patrol joined the chase. Eventually, Willis lost control of the vehicle and became stuck in a muddy field, ending the pursuit.

Drug Discovery and Charges
Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered plastic bags containing methamphetamine and marijuana. Willis admitted that the drugs were hers. While in custody at the Pettis County Jail, authorities found that she had attempted to smuggle additional methamphetamine into the facility.

Felony Charges and Bond Set
Willis now faces multiple felony charges, including:

First-degree tampering with a motor vehicle
Possession of a controlled substance
Delivery or possession of a controlled substance at a jail
Resisting arrest
Tampering with physical evidence
She is currently being held at the Pettis County Jail with a $50,000 cash or surety bond.
