In a shocking twist, Kanpur Police arrested a woman, Reena, and her nephew Satyam, for the murder of her husband, Dhirendra, a tractor owner. Initially, Reena had accused her neighbors, Kirti Yadav, along with his sons Ravi and Raju, of committing the crime. She claimed that the murder occurred over a dispute regarding a tractor repair.
The incident occurred on May 11, when Dhirendra was found dead at his home, his head brutally bludgeoned with a heavy object. Reena raised an alarm, and her accusations led to the arrest of Kirti and Ravi, despite their denials.
However, the police remained skeptical of Reena’s story, and further investigation uncovered critical inconsistencies in her version of the events. Forensic evidence began to point to a different scene of the crime. Blood spatters inside the house did not match Reena’s claim that the murder had taken place outside. Additionally, a bed plank, soaked in blood matching Dhirendra’s, was found at the crime scene.
A breakthrough came when a dog squad indicated that the crime scene was actually inside the residence. Suspicious, the police examined Reena’s phone, revealing that she had made 40 calls to Satyam, her nephew and lover, on the night of the murder.
Upon further questioning, Satyam confessed that Reena had drugged her husband to put him to sleep. Once he was unconscious, Reena called Satyam over, and despite his hesitation, they used a heavy bed plank to repeatedly strike Dhirendra on the head, killing him.
The duo then proceeded to clean the blood and dispose of the evidence. Afterward, Reena went to sleep on the terrace with her children, only to later “discover” the body and falsely accuse the neighbors of the crime.
Police discovered that Reena and Satyam had been in a romantic relationship, which had been previously exposed by Dhirendra. Fearing her husband would expose the affair, Reena planned the murder with Satyam’s help. The murder weapon and forensic evidence confirmed Reena’s involvement.
Reena and Satyam have now been arrested, while efforts are underway to clear the names of Kirti Yadav and his son Ravi, who were wrongfully accused and arrested based on Reena’s false accusations.
