Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh: Kanpur Cyber Crime Police have successfully apprehended two individuals, Abhishek Singh and Rajnath Singh, who were involved in a large-scale job scam that targeted aspiring job seekers by promising positions at IndiGo Airlines. The accused lured victims by offering fake employment in airline ticketing and collecting hefty registration fees and other charges.
The fraudsters accessed data from popular job portals, including Shine.com, to target individuals actively seeking employment. Posing as representatives of IndiGo Airlines, the accused set up a fraudulent website and email to appear legitimate. They gained the trust of victims by providing fake offer letters and joining letters, claiming to secure airline jobs.
After acquiring personal documents from their victims, Singh and Singh demanded registration fees and other job-related expenses. The victims, believing the scam to be legitimate, complied, only to discover later that they were being duped.
The Kanpur Cyber Crime Police, led by Inspector Parvez Ali, arrested the duo after conducting a thorough investigation. The authorities seized several electronic devices during the arrest, including a Vivo mobile phone, an iPhone 15, and a OnePlus Nord CE2, which were used in the scam.
