Bangalore, Karnataka: A Kannada actress, Bindu, was arrested along with Vinay and Dhanush on Monday in connection with the murder of her live-in partner, Mohan Krishna, a small-time financier. The incident occurred at a rented house in Vijayalakshmi Layout and came to light on March 1 when neighbours noticed a foul smell and discovered Krishna’s decomposed body.
Police said Krishna had separated from his wife and was in a live-in relationship with Bindu. Two months prior, the couple had rented the house without a formal rental agreement. Investigation revealed that Bindu had developed a romantic relationship with Vinay, and fearing Krishna would obstruct their plans to marry, the three accused allegedly conspired to kill him.
On February 18, during a party at the house, Krishna reportedly attempted to sexually assault Bindu. Enraged, Vinay allegedly stabbed Krishna multiple times, after which all three accused wrapped cello tape around his mouth and nose, suffocating him to death. The suspects then locked the house and fled.
Police tracked the accused using cellphone locations and call data records. Bindu, Vinay, and Dhanush were booked under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and further investigation is ongoing.
