Kanhaiyalal Held After 9 Months in Rs25 Lakh Bus Robbery Case

Mastermind posed as cop, robbed youth in Sikar’s Ringas area

Sikar (Rajasthan): After nine months on the run, Kanhaiyalal alias Kanha, the alleged mastermind of a Rs25 lakh robbery, has been arrested by Ringas police in Sikar district. He was detained from Parbatsar jail on a production warrant and remanded to three days of police custody after being presented in court on Thursday.

A resident of Parbatsar, Kanhaiyalal has a long criminal history with 11 cases of theft, robbery, and dacoity registered against him. His arrest brings the total number of accused in the case to nine, with Rs2 lakh of the stolen amount already recovered.

According to police, the robbery took place on January 11, when Kanhaiyalal and his gang posed as policemen and pulled a youth off a state transport bus near Sargoth village. The victim was then forcibly taken to Khatushyamji, where he was assaulted and robbed of Rs25 lakh in cash and his mobile phone.

The police have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and efforts are being made to recover the remaining stolen amount.
