Carthage Man Kane Avonce, 28, Arrested for Larceny Charges
Kane Avonce, a 28-year-old resident of Carthage, was arrested on August 5 due to outstanding warrants and a parole violation.
The Aberdeen Police Department received a report on July 30 regarding a larceny at a business located at Highway 1 and Magnolia Drive. According to Police Chief Brian Chavis, officers quickly responded to the scene, interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage.
“Upon further investigation, the suspect was identified as Avonce,” Chavis stated. It was revealed that Avonce had outstanding warrants from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office for felony larceny and was an absconder from NC Probation and Parole. Additional warrants were issued for his arrest concerning felony habitual larceny and misdemeanor larceny.
The Moore County Sheriff’s Department successfully located and apprehended Avonce, who is currently held at the Moore County Detention Center under a secured bond of $5,000.
As always, he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
