The arrest was made in Khoken village.
Alongside the murder investigation, security forces in Manipur have ramped up their presence in fringe and vulnerable areas across hill and valley districts. As part of intensified search and area domination operations, three pumpi guns were recovered from general areas of Changplkot, Siden, H Kotlian, and Dampi hill under Churachandpur Police Station.
Police reported that the overall situation in the state remains tense but under control, with operations continuing to ensure peace and safety.
In a separate incident, an active member of the banned outfit Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group) was arrested. The individual, Thangjam Amujao Meitei (37) from Brahmapur Nahabam, was apprehended in Sangakpham Bazar under Heingang Police Station, Imphal East District, and found in possession of a mobile phone believed to be linked to insurgent activity.
To further tighten security, 110 checkpoints were set up across various districts, resulting in three detentions for different violations.
Authorities have appealed to the public to return looted arms, ammunition, and explosives to the police or nearest security units without delay, emphasizing public cooperation for restoring peace in the region.
