A major cybercrime operation involving a Rs25-crore online scam has been busted by Lucknow police, with Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Kamlesh Dixit confirming the arrest of 15 individuals. The group allegedly deceived people across India using a mobile app that promised fake job offers and betting opportunities.
The scam’s mastermind reportedly operated from multiple international locations, including Sri Lanka, Singapore, Dubai, and India, in an effort to evade detection.
According to DCP Kamlesh Dixit, the operation came to light following a tip-off. A coordinated raid by teams from the cyber crime police station, cyber cell, and PGI police station was conducted at a rented luxury penthouse (Flat No. 1105) in Lucknow’s PGI area. The site was found equipped with multiple workstations, smartphones, laptops, and SIM cards, indicating a fully functional cyber fraud setup.

Haripreet Singh (23) – Lakhimpur, U.P.
Sandeep Kumar (29) – Deoria, U.P.
Manish Kumar (25) – Bhopal
Abhishek Kumar Rajbhar (22), Ashish Kumar (24), Mannu Kumar (25), Ritesh Singh, Iftikhar Ali (25), Shubham Soni, Sonu Ali (19), Ravi Singh (21), Karan Kumar (22), Vikas Kumar (25), Ritesh Singh (21), and Sanjeev Kumar (26) – all from Bihar.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover the full extent of the racket’s national and international connections.
