Kalady Police Arrest Gireesh in Vegetable Shop Theft and Stabbing Case

Suspect in 12 Cases, Gireesh Arrested After December Theft Incident

The Kalady Police have made a significant arrest in connection with the December 27 theft and stabbing incident at a vegetable shop. The arrested individual, Gireesh, 49, is from Kodungalloor.

The incident, which took place in Kalady, involved a brutal stabbing of the vegetable shop manager during a robbery. Gireesh had fled the scene after the incident and had been on the run ever since. However, after a thorough investigation, the special investigation team (SIT) tracked him down and arrested him from Kodungalloor.

Gireesh allegedly took Rs4 lakh from the stolen loot. The police noted that Gireesh has an extensive criminal history, being accused in over 12 cases, including charges of murder.

Police Statement
The Kalady Police have expressed their satisfaction with the progress in the investigation and emphasized that they will continue working on recovering the remaining stolen items. Gireesh is now under police custody for further questioning.
