Kalaburagi district police have successfully cracked five theft cases, arresting five individuals and recovering gold jewellery worth Rs17 lakh along with Rs2,33,800 in cash.
Superintendent of Police Adduru Srinivasulu provided details during a press conference on Friday. One significant case involved the theft of gold from a marriage ceremony held at Karunsagar’s residence in Andola, Jewargi taluk. The theft, which occurred on May 17, 2025, was reported to Jewargi police station.
Investigators tracked down relatives and friends who had attended the wedding and scrutinized the bank accounts of around 8 to 10 suspicious individuals. This led to the arrest of Renuka Sharanabasappa Guled, who was found guilty of robbing two women. The police continue their efforts to resolve related cases and ensure justice for the victims.
