Kajheri police have arrested two youths for the murder of 22-year-old Anil Kumar Chauhan on October 15. The suspects allegedly killed him with a sharp weapon, placed his body in a sack, and dumped it in a well in a forest area of Kajheri.
Anil, a native of Mansa, had been reported missing by his family from his rented accommodation at Kumbhra on October 15. His phone was unreachable, raising immediate concerns.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Chhote Lal (alias Neeraj) and Badal, both residents of Kajheri. Their accomplice, Sahil Kabadia, remains at large. Authorities are still searching for the murder weapon and the deceased’s motorcycle.
The suspects were presented in court and sent to three-day police custody. A case has been registered at Phase 8 police station under Sections 127(4), 3(5), 140(3), and 103(1) of the BNS.
Police investigations revealed that the murder stemmed from a grudge over a local girl. Anil had reportedly assaulted the girl a month earlier. Her distant brothers, known to Anil, harbored resentment. After consuming liquor, a heated argument ensued, leading the accused to take Anil to the forest and allegedly kill him. His decomposed body was recovered from a well on Monday.
